If you're not already a Tribe fan don't read this book - it drops you right where the show ended with little explanation.
However, if you are it is unmissable. The author is plainly a fan themselves and has for the most part done an excellent job writing the characters true to how they were on the show. (With the possible exception of Trudy whose emotional growth over the series has been thrown out of the window and been returned to her season 1 hysterics).
Knowing that the plot from The New Tomor

I've been a fan of NZ cult tv series The Tribe for well over ten years now, and being housebound, I recently started watching the show again, as the owners have kindly put it on YouTube.
It's a fantastic teen drama series set after the apocalypse. Every adult on earth has been wiped out by a deadly virus, and the children are left to fend for themselves in a ruined society.
I decided to pick up this book because I really, really wanted to know what happened after the series ended. That's where thi

I was so excited to discover this book! The ending of The Tribe TV series left me wanting more and to find out what happened after the Mall Rats fled their beloved city.
The book characters seemed pretty true to their TV counterparts; I could imagine them as clearly as if I were watching the scenes unfold on screen. I found the entire story to be exciting, possibly even better than anything that happened in the television series. When it was over, I still wanted more!

Well okay so it's kind of like reading official fanfiction, and I enjoyed the Star Wars books so why not. I love The Tribe, I think it's a fantastic show, but this kind of fell short. I think for me part of it was that I couldn't see the characters' clothes. Silly right? The show is just so much about the crazy outfits, that I wanted to see new ones... alas. Also, I'm wagering this was written by either a non-English speaker, or translated from another language, because some of the wording is ve...more

As huge fan of The Tribe series, I absolutely loved this book, it was amazing. It continues from where series 5 finished. The book draws you in, it feels as if you are right there watching. A lot of questions were answered that were left from series 5 but it also leaves many new questions that need answering. I do hope that there will be more books and/or new tv series.

I used to watch the series when I was younger and bought the book more out of curiosity. I was not expecting that much (to be honest) but just could not put it down! It is awesome. And I want to read it again. If I can get it back from my b/f that is. He never watched the Tribe but now is well and truly hooked. AJ Penn has done an outstanding job. If you enjoy stories like the Hunger Games then you will love this. Highly recommended.

As a big fan of The Tribe series I was very curious to see how this installment would continue from the original story. This is a great read that I'd recommend for any tribe fan curious to know what happened the mall rats after series 5. Its filled with a lot of action and explains a couple of facts about some of the missing characters (not all). Im really looking forward to the next installment!
Spent years and years wondering what happened after they left on the boat, now finally there is a follow up story, fantastic read, takes me right back to when I was young and watching the programme, hoping there is going to be another one now.
'Look into the future, what do you see?
I really need to know now, is there a place for me?
If we're gonna survive, the dream must stay alive.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
This wasn't the best book I have read. I'm going to be honest with my thoughts here. The writing was atrocious. It was really bad. The dialogue felt like I was reading from a script. Mostly the whole thing did. It was like a written script with a few sentences in between. I even foun

I was actually kind of disappointed in this book.. I’ve loved The Tribe for so many years and I was really excited to read this, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. I gave it 3,5 stars out of 5 because my heart will forever belong to The Tribe and all their characters.
But yeah I was not happy with the book, but it still made me ache for the characters and I will read the second book but it might take a small while. Probably gonna read something different in between.

I loved this series when it was on television and when I found out there were books that continued the story I knew I had to read them.
'The Tribe: A New World' picks up where season 5 left off and we get to see the Mall Rats on there journey to find safety and a new home. They will meet new friends and enemies while some friends may become enemies and some old friends reappear. There are some cliffhangers and I want to see what will happen next.
After watching the TV-series religiously, craving more of this awesome story, this book was a pleasure to read.

Giving a book a well deserved 5 out of 5 stars for the cover and the content. This book is a continuation to the TV. show 'The Tribe', is like season 6. If you are fan of the show then you must read this book, is lovely and lots of your questions will be answered.
The book is about a Tribe that is put thru lots of challenges, after the 'virus' killed all the adults. They all come from different places and by coincidence meet at the mall where they all became the strongest tribe there at the mo

Okay, so it doesn't beat around the bush initially: this continues right where things left off. Obviously, don't bother if you haven't a clue what The Tribe is.
I was a huge fan of the TV show, although this didn't really do it for me. It was alright, but I don't think i'll be bothering with the next one. Not sure if I should've left The Tribe untouched, still fond with nostalgia in my mind.
I didn't like the writing - it was very simple and I felt like it was trying to spell everything out for m

A book that has been years in the waiting. Could it carry on the 'torch' from what had gone before? Live up to expectations? Let alone the hype?
One word - OMFG yes (ok two words).
I have been waiting years, yes YEARs for find out what happened in series 6 and after guzzling as much fan fiction as I have been able to about the show, was blown away by this book, A New World.
ANW took me to places I had never been and pleasantly brought me back to enjoy 'old aquaintances' as I got to see much loved

An outstanding book, highly recommended to anyone who loves post-apocalyptic stories and especially recommended to anyone who is a fan of The Tribe tv series!
The book (without giving away spoilers) continues the story of Amber and the Mall Rats after series 5 as they fight to survive and build a better world from the ashes of the past.
The author has captured spot on the characterisations and has added some great new characters. The book has a wonderfully deep and rich atmosphere and vivid backgr

This is a truly terrible book and I've only given it the two stars as I enjoyed the original show so much!
The writing style is dreadful, I am surprised it was actually published by a publishing house rather than self published as it clearly hasn't been copy-edited or proofed. A lot of the sentences really don't make sense and are in the wrong tense. Characters are referred to in strange ways such as 'Lottie was taking care of Amber's baby'. Why not just say Bray? Or baby Bray if we want to be sp

Prelim Review: Firstly, I loved The Tribe television show. I first learned about it as I was entering senior year at high school on a channel called WAM (that showed Australian and British TV shows) and it was love at first site. The costumes, the make-up, the story, the characters--it all just worked so well for me. It ended after 5 seasons, though a sixth had been spoken of it never came to fruition so fans were left with the merry band of Mall Rats sailing away to an unknown future.

on the one hand, I loved being able to dive back into the tribe world and read about the characters I loved so much going up. I also quite liked the plot and how it was narrated from different point of views. so a big plus on the story side of the equation.
however, stylistically and linguistically, the book, the ebook at least, was dreadful! it was awful to read sometimes simply because sentences were just stopped in the middle even though it wasn't done yet. also sentence fragments that belonge

If you watched and loved the tv-show The Tribe, as I did, you can not miss this book! It might not be the best literary work I've ever read, but it is pretty amazing to follow the journey of the Mallrats after season 5 of the tv series. I will probably forever feel that The Tribe is working better on screen than in bookform, because in a book, you don't get the style, the make-up and the artistic expression which I loved on tv - but it is still a book worthwhile to read. It picks up right where...more
Loved it! I was just so happy and thrilled to have a continuation of my favorite childhood TV series.
I recommend this book to all The Tribe Fans who are interested in the fate of Amber, Jay, Ellie, Jack, Trudy and all the other Mall Rats as they leave their home city and set out to start anew on a far away island.
I was pleasantly surprised by the character portrayal and the new developments and different plot lines that open up new options and questions for the Mall Rats. I am sorry that I can

This is a brilliant story and a good follow up to the series after the show was cruelly axed. The characters personalities were spot on to the point that I could see it all happening in my minds eye. My only complaint is the dreadful grammar and poor spelling in places. That's unfortunately the trouble when the publisher is small and they can't afford an editor to proof read things before it is sent to press. However as a true fan of the show I looked beyond this in order to find out what happen...more

Action packed, fast paced. It was so interesting and kept me wanting more. I love the continuation of the story, and for the most part kept to the original series. I can't wait to get more questions answered, and hopefully learn what happened to some of the other Mall Rats. I am really glad I read this because it filled a longing in me for more of The Tribe. I believe the author did a great job of keeping the personalities of the characters the same and can't wait to read the next book in the se...more
A definite read for fans of the The Tribe series. It answer quite a few questions that were left open at the end of season 5. Introduces a bunch of new characters which can be a bit confusing and hard to keep track of sometimes, but that will hopefully become more clear in the next novel.
It also raise a good deal of new questions especially with the new people they meet. It sometimes might feel a bit like a fan written fanfiction but if you look past that it is a very good continuation of the s

The only reason this book does not merit one star is the fact that we get to know what happened after the end of series 5. Many reviewers have said it better than I can in other reviews, so I will keep my thoughts brief.
The punctuation and spelling is terrible, it feels like the book never went through an editing process, and the characters have been written as if they'd never developed after series 1.
By all means read it if you are a devout Tribe fan (I would recommend buying the Kindle version
